Sarah's Story

April 4, 2004

Hello, my name is Sarah Navratil. I am 15 years old, and I have been and continue to be a victim of court abuse in San Mateo County, California, where I have been a citizen since I was born.

As a result of my parents divorce, I have been and continue to be subjected to court appointed attorney's who are supposedly in place to represent my interests, but have only served their own interests, court appointed therapists, who have done nothing but try to brainwash me into believing that my mother is crazy and doesn't love me, and court appointed mediators, who have done nothing but slam my mother, act inappropriate with me, by trying to buy my silence with money, hugs, and one on one meetings in my bedroom alone, and threats of never seeing my mother again if I do not do as they say. They have repeatedly told me that I cannot live with or see my mom because the court said so.

I have told everyone that I want to live with my mom because she loves me and takes care of me. I need to be with my mom, because I am a young girl who has not been allowed to be with my mom, and for obvious reasons needs to be with my mom. My father does not love me or care about my needs. I am nothing more than a means to get money from my mom so he can hurt my mom and he uses me for show for his girlfriends. He tries to come off as a loving, caring father. He is the total opposite. He is dangerous, abusive, emotionally hurts me, and leaves me unsupervised without any rules or restrictions. I am on my own to fend for myself. My mom loves me, cares for me, is kind, loving, and supportive. She is there for me when I need her and helps with the issues that face a young girl of my age.

My father with the help of his attorney, Phillip Shecter, along with help from Diane Thomas, Steven Montalvo, Jean Loveland, Dennis Durkin, and now Bonnie Miller, the court has done everything to keep me from being with my mom. I know that I have rights and they have violated those rights over and over again and have done everything they can to silence me and keep me silent. I will no longer be silent. I am speaking out about the wrongs that have been done to me and my mom.

This is happening to hundreds of young children and teenagers in San Mateo County and all over the State of California. I am a citizen of this county and of the United States of America, and I have rights! I will no longer plead for those rights-I AM DEMANDING THEM! Something needs to be done about this problem and something needs to be done now!!!

Thank you!
